TOWARDS A TEN YEAR PLAN
What will Braziers be like in Ten Years' Time? Braziers in 2017

BASICS
" Conscious Evolution - generate a new understanding of
our participation in overall processes
" Finances - producing a surplus beyond delivery of central
aims, for refurbishment and development
" Friends of Braziers - to be supported, and encouraged
in raising funds for projects
" Legal Structure - to be researched, resolved and implemented
- perhaps a Registered Charity
" Public Benefit - Braziers to be seen to work towards the
public benefit
" Social Justice - to work towards reversing injustices
near and far in the surrounding world
" Ecological Sustainability - examination of all our activities
in order to reduce our footprint
" Braziers Land - careful management to support residents'
& visitors' holistic experience
PEOPLE
" Employment - certain key posts to be salaried positions
" Informal workers - aim to recognise and regularise informal
arrangements (non-cash exchanges)
" Volunteer work to continue and be developed to run co-operatively
alongside employed situations.
" Overseas volunteer participation to continue, and be developed.
" Membership, Active Associateship and Associateship - to
continue and be re-examined
" Resident Community - empower and develop with a view to
sustainability and diversity
EDUCATION
" All Braziers activities are experimental in nature - they
are likely to evolve and change
" Braziers Curriculum - integrative study developed and
managed by Director of Studies
" Camping, Outdoor Activities and Courses - to continue
and develop
" Promote and Document our educational activity
" Recognise the value of using and developing our educational
resources
" Develop connections with non-BP courses, fostering partnerships
and mutual dialogue
BUILDINGS
" BP Heating Source - conclude feasibility study and install
new system to improve sustainability
" Assess Space Needs across accommodation, catering, studio
and service functions etc
" Accommodation - increase bedrooms available to visitors
and residents
" Re-appoint Barn as Alternative Venue - increase revenue
and provide a large indoor space
" Develop Outbuildings - Coach House, Chicken House, Apple
Store, Egg House, Cowshed, Studio
" Alternative shelters - to be encouraged for educational
and temporary accommodation purposes
" Several new permanent eco-dwellings - to be encouraged
and funding solutions found

Becoming
a Member
Braziers welcomes enquiries about membership of both the Society,
legally known as the Braziers Park School of Integrative Social
Research, and of the Friends of Braziers, which is a registered
charity established to support the educational work of Braziers
and the maintenance of the buildings.
Anyone who is interested in the development of the ideas and philosophy
of Braziers may join as an Associate. Those who do so will receive
notice of, and be invited to, various meetings and seminars to
discuss the advancement of these ideas. The annual subscription
for Associate membership is £18 p.a.

If you are interested in supporting the work of the Friends of
Braziers, with its particular focus on the upkeep of the buildings,
you are welcome to become a Friend. Friends of Braziers receive
invitations to various events, including previews of art exhibitions,
use of the library by prior arrangement with the resident community,
and other benefits. Membership costs £15 p.a. for an individual
or £20 p.a. for a couple at the same address.

Those who take an active part in the work of Braziers Park, either
as Associates or Friends, become eligible to be made Active Associates,
possibly leading to appointment as full Members of the Society
with a vote at the AGM and eligible for nomination to the Committee
of Management.
