12 inches of snow here in the U.K.
By greenpete | January 12, 2010
Yeah, I’m loving it, a real winter wonderland!
The weather here in the U.K. this winter has taken me back to when we used to get proper winters here in the U.K.

happy new year again
By annehanzy | January 3, 2010
As every year I was thinking of sending a snail mail card or something like this to BP…as every year I did not
shame on me….so, if anybody ever goes to this blog, as it seems rather dead, I wish you and all the other people attached to BP a lot of life, beautiful experiences, good and stable friends, rewarding and enjoyable work and good relaxation time afterwards

Winter Scenes
By greenpete | February 8, 2009
I thought I would post some images of the countryside around here under snow and ice for the people in both warmer and colder climes.
They’re not too exciting but they give an idea.
These three are around the estate…
And the last one is of a flood plane in Oxford where some of us went ice skating, it was inclreadable to have such a vast expanse of ice to skate on!

facebook & a new face
By kaisa | November 12, 2008
Ok, so I’m finally writing here. This will be just a quick post, I’ll write more when I get home and manage to gather my thoughts together.
I’ve been volunteering here at Braziers for about five weeks now, and this is my last day. For those who don’t know me, my name is Kaisa and I come from Finland. I’m a photographer/full-time traveller at the moment, have been touring Europe since this summer. Through some lucky events I found my way to Braziers and have really enjoyed my time here. It’s a wonderfully beautiful place full of amazing people.
Hopefully I’ll come back here as soon as possible. My mission is to re-decorate room 4… ;D
And, well, I know we all hate facebook, but yet somehow everyone seems to use it anyway, so I created a Braziers group there. I hope that link will work! Otherwise just type “Braziers Park” in the search section and you should find it.
Bye bye, Braziers!
Kaisa

Yes things are quiet here…
By greenpete | November 2, 2008
Braziers, as anyone who has lived or volunteered here will know, is not quiet!
There are always things going on.
My view, (and there are so many other and varied) view is that Braziers is going through quite a large change.
There have been and still are residents leaving as well as new residents arriving.
My trial residency is over and I am pleased to say that I have been accepted!
Catherine leaves in November.. oh, it is November! Soon then. I believe near the end of the month.
Jay and Christian have been here a while now (a few weeks, a month or two, my memory isn’t good at remembering these things!). They seem to be fitting in very well and Jay’s sister Kerry is coming down on Wednesday to volunteer for 10 days too!
Karen has been here over four months now and is making great headway through the things that need doing in the office!
I don’t know of any potential new residents, but there is a vacancy being advertised soon, I believe, some kind of admin’ position.
It’s a lovely time of year now, the trees turning and the air damp and full of woodland smells, it’s lovely!
The garden is calming down, though there is still a fair bit of produce coming out of it.
We had a nice big pumpkin for Halloween, and have been eating pumpkin and squash for a while now.
Sarah, an American volunteer, made us some lovely pumpkin pies whilst she was here.
Thankfully the corgette’s are all but gone!
Maintenance work goes on as usual, a never ending job on such a big house.
The guests still flood through the doors, in fact it has been very busy with guests.
There are such a wide variety of guests, the current ones are working on community living, which is great as it fits in with us really well!
Christian and my self have had some lovely conversations with them about the subject of community living and I would imagine that many other similar conversations have taken place this weekend.
I have been talking to Karen and Catherine about e-mailing all the volunteers about the blog and I try to encourage volunteers to sign up, but there e-mail data base has been in the process of being cleaned up by Karen, so I will hopefully get on to that job next week. I have also put an article in the Braziers News Letter.
So hopefully this blog will liven up a bit soon!
