Autumn Herbals – The Seed Time Transitions
22-23 Oct 2022 £165 2-Day Course
This retreat at Braziers delves into the energy of autumn allowing you to witness the inner and outer shifts of the moment as the natural world starts to transmute its dance into the inward and hibernatory earth elements. - learning about the natural histories and life cycles of some healing and nourishing plant relatives that live around us, and hearing their messages
- gathering resources for the cold season in the form of healthcare knowledge of our body processes and grounding practices to support them
- making home remedies that can protect resilience through the winter to come

Winter Herbals 2-Day Workshop
12-13 Nov 2022 £150
Time to draw in for the winter season after the abundant life and rich harvests of autumn. Connecting with the cycle of the year, this is the time for firelight and dark and the winter herbals weekend is a cosy opportunity to get together and craft seasonal herbal remedies for the cold times. We will look at the healing powers of the herbs we gathered through the summer and autumn – flowers, seeds, roots and berries – as well as the therapeutic potential of our kitchen herbs and spices, to respond to the common ailments of this time of year.
Cold & flu teas, anti-infective and warming syrups and tinctures, muscle rubs and bath soaks to get the blood flowing and other protective remedies will be amongst the medicines we make, as we enjoy the old-time surrounds at Braziers and head out for invigorating walks to meet the plants as they prepare for the hibernation time.
Cost: £150.00 for 2-day non-residential course with residential option – concessions available

Facilitator: I am Rasheeqa Ahmad, a qualified medical herbalist based in Walthamstow, east London.
I trained at the Scottish School of Herbal Medicine in Glasgow and at Middlesex University (Archway Herbal Clinic) in London, gaining a 1st-class Honours degree and the Ellis Snitcher Memorial Prize for Integrative Medicine in 2012.
I trained in Herbal Medicine with the aim of helping people (including myself!) to enjoy positivity and intelligent health in collaboration with our living universe. I’m excited by the possibilities of plant medicine, both those understood since ancient times and those emerging now. I am committed to continue learning more about this power and to sharing it with others as best as I can. I believe that understanding our connections and symbiosis with the other living beings of the earth can yield great potential for our future development and success – all of us together.
My practice encompasses consultations and treatment, plant-gathering and medicine-making, community activity including knowledge-sharing, practical workshops and herb walks, and vital connections with people and organisations working in peace and productivity with the earth and universe. Please contact me if you are interested in knowing more about any of these activities.
