RESIDENTIAL VACANCIES
All our employees are paid £12.36 per hour. Resident employees and lodgers pay rent at £535 per month, plus £2 for each meal they eat with the community.
Kitchen Coordinator – Residential, 20 hours per week
You will:
- Have experience working in and running a commercial or large kitchen
- Plan and manage and ensure stock levels are maintained for the work of our kitchen, serving mainly vegetarian meals up to 40 people including members of the public on the busiest weekends, and for a smaller number during the week.
- Ensure kitchen-related hygiene, environmental health and health & safety is understood and maintained by all
- Prepare three to five meals each week, and ensure other community members are supported to prepare the remaining meals
- Work closely with the Gardener and the Garden-Kitchen Link to ensure best use is made of produce from our organically run garden and orchard

Maintenance Worker – Residential, 20 hours per week
You will:
- Have worked as a handy person or in a trade, with electrical, plumbing, roofing, drainage and / or carpentry experience
- Be working in conjunction with the other Maintenance Worker and the Buildings & Development Manager on reactive maintenance tasks and cyclical maintenance
- Maintain and repair estate and house equipment and machinery (e.g. mowers and kitchen blenders)
- Ensure safety systems are regularly tested and maintained
- Ensure daily and weekly operation and cleaning of our biomass boilers

ACRE RESEARCH RESIDENCIES
Artists and researchers are invited to apply to our Academic and Creative Residency Scheme (ACRE), renting rooms in the house for short- or long-term stays. ACRE residents can pursue their work here, contributing to our research culture and day-to-day community life.
We do not have space to accommodate ACRE residencies at the moment. However, the situation may change, so please do send us your application, with the understanding that it may be some time before we are able to process it.
